Castor oil (Palma Christi) translates as the hand of Christ.
Castor bean seeds have been used around the world for healing and some of the bean seeds, believed to be over 4000 years old, have been found in Egyptian tombs.
The use of castor oil packs indicated for conditions as diverse as constipation, liver conditions, appendicitis, arthritis and toxemia was brought to America’s attention through the work of the mystic seer Edgar Casey. It is not recommended to take castor oil internally, but rather for external use only.
Here are a few uses that I have personally seen clinically. Take castor oil and mix it with baking soda until you get the consistency of a mildly runny toothpaste. Apply it to warts on the body and cover with a Band-Aid. The more you keep it covered 24/7, the quicker the results. Eventually, you will go to replace the Band-Aid with a new batch of the castor oil and baking soda mix and you’ll find that the wart is gone. It is a painless way to clear up warts and it’s particularly effective for plantar warts. I would also recommend patients to rub it into any problem looking areas on the skin. Sometimes skin tag like protrusions would just fall off and disappear. Other times, spots that a dermatologist might call pre-cancerous would lighten in color and eventually normalize.
There are different ways to do castor oil packs. The way I would usually recommend was for my patients to take the castor oil and pour some into their hands and massage into the area to be treated for 30 seconds to a minute. Next was to wash their hands thoroughly. Then take wool flannel and cover the area. Follow up with a clean towel and then wrap the area up with an ace bandage or a Velcro wrap to secure. Then take a heating pad or a hot water bottle and cover the area, driving heat into it, for the next 30 minutes to an hour.
Castor oil packs can be done frequently as needed. Occasionally, as the oil penetrates into the skin, a slight oil slick can be seen with bowel movements. This is normal and confirms the penetrating effects of castor oil.

I would recommend castor oil packs to accelerate the healing of musculoskeletal conditions, such as spinal or low back pain, knee arthritis, or any joint where one needs accelerated healing.
Castor oil packs over the liver is a must remedy as part of a holistic treatment plan for cancer of any type. Use over the kidneys is indicated when kidney function has been compromised.
Although any type of castor oil seems to work fine with use for warts, I suggest the best quality organic castor oil one can find for use for joint conditions or over internal organs.
One of the ways that castor oil is effective is because of its stimulation of the lymphatic system. Combine with our recommended lymphatic tea for even better success.
